A One-Day Training Seminar on the Proper Use of Pashto Orthography Held
A one-day training seminar on the proper use of Pashto orthography in daily tasks was presented to the professors, administrative staff, and students of Nuristan University. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Sayed Sharif Ahmad Lala Khil in coordination with the General Directorate of Student Services and Coordination, and it was held at the Center for Professional Development.
In the opening speech of the seminar, the university president, Professor Hamidullah Abid, spoke about the importance and necessity of correct spelling, composition, and punctuation in writing. He stated:
“The proper use of punctuation in writing is like using salt in food – just as salt gives flavor to food, punctuation gives clarity to writing. All participants should pay close attention to this aspect in their writing.”
Following that, Professor Lala Khil provided detailed and comprehensive information on all aspects of proper Pashto orthography in daily use. He explained the correct structure and form of words, the accurate writing of letters, and the appropriate use of the five types of "Yā" (ی). He also emphasized to participants the importance of maintaining writing standards in any written work.
